2010 Ambassador Program Overview
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber Ambassadors are the goodwill arm of the Chamber and thus are charged with extending the hand of friendship to new, current and future members alike. The Ambassadors promote retention by assisting members in maximizing their Chamber membership, welcoming new members and attending ribbon cuttings and other Chamber events overall. The Chamber also relies on the Ambassadors to serve as a communication link between the Chamber and its members by relaying information to and from members, identifying member concerns, and garnering support for the Chamber.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
1. Each candidate for the Ambassador program MUST be an employee or owner of a Chamber member business in good standing. Each member of the Chamber may only have one representative serving as an Ambassador, with no exceptions. An Ambassador who changes jobs or whose company drops their membership has 30 days from the occurrence to remedy the situation. After 30 days, the Ambassador will be dropped from the program.
2. All members of this Program should be in a position to have some autonomy in the use of his/her time in the execution of their Ambassador duties or have management approval to actively participate within the Program.
3. When communicating with Chamber members, an Ambassador is expected to represent the Chamber first and foremost and their company second. (eg., avoid conflict of interest)
4. Each Ambassador commits to a term of one year February through December. If an Ambassador joins mid-year that term will expire in December.
5. Ambassadors may be asked to assist the Chamber with additional retention efforts.

POINT OPPORTUNITIES
Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies: 15 Points
Ambassador must sign Ambassador sign-in sheet to confirm attendance and must stay for duration of event.
GAHCC Events: 10 Points
For each Chamber Event, Power Networking Breakfast (Monthly), Meet the Chamber (Quarterly) and Luncheon (Quarterly), Ambassadors will be awarded points. Ambassador must sign Ambassador sign-in sheet to confirm attendance and must stay for duration of event.
Guests: 5 Points
Points will be awarded for each guest an Ambassador brings to a Chamber event. Guest must sign in to verify attendance.
Calls: 10 Points (For every three calls)
Ambassadors shall contact Members and fill out Call Sheets ensuring member is informed of their membership status. Call Sheets should be faxed back to Program Staff Liaison.
Member Packet Delivery: 10 Points
Points will be awarded for Ambassadors who deliver Member Packets and fax back Delivery Packet Form within the deadline provided.
Mentorship Program Advisor: 30 Points
Points will be awarded to each Ambassador who signs up and fulfills the monthly requirement as a Mentor in the GAHCC Mentorship Program. Requirements are specified by the GAHCC Education Committee. Signing up a New Member: 10 Points
Level must be Small Business, Non-Profit, or Government Agency. Points will be awarded when payment is paid in full. Ambassador name must be included on Member application as Who referred you?
Signing up a New Corporate Member: 20 Points
Level must be Premier Investor, Power Investor, Prestigious Investor, or Contributing Investor. Points will be awarded when payment is paid in full. Ambassador name must be included on Member application as Who referred you?
Chair Xcellence Points: 100 Points
The Ambassador Chair will have the opportunity to award 100 extra points to an Ambassador of their choice. Xcellence points will be awarded for commitment above and beyond required Ambassador duties.
Staff Liaison Xcellence Points: 50 Points
The Ambassador Staff Liaison will have the opportunity to award 50 extra points to an Ambassador of their choice. Xcellence points will be awarded for commitment above and beyond required Ambassador duties.
**Depending upon need, Ambassadors shall be awarded points for attending special and/or other Chamber related events.
MONTHLY SCHEDULE
All monthly meetings will be held on the 1st Tuesday of each month from
12:00-1:00p.m.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
An Ambassador of the Year award will be given to the Ambassador with the highest point total at the end of the calendar year. The Ambassador of the Year will be recognized at the Celebrando Austin Awards Banquet in March 2011. Additional recognition will be provided through the Chamber website, newsletter and Annual Banquet Program.
DISMISSAL POLICY
Once accepted into the 2010 Program, Ambassadors are expected to understand and agree to the outlined program requirements and expectations. An Ambassador who does not fulfill the minimum required monthly expectations may be subject to dismissal from the 2010 Program. Prior to any dismissal, Ambassador will receive written and/or verbal notification from Board Chair. Upon failure to achieve minimum expectations following warning notification, official notice of dismissal will be issued.
AMBASSADOR PROGRAM CONTRACT
I will participate in the 2010 Ambassador Program and fully promote and represent the Chamber in a positive and inclusive manner.
I will attend ALL monthly Ambassador Meetings. I also understand that I am allowed TWO excused absences. Any more absences will cause dismissal from the program.
I will deliver TWO New Member Packets per month.
I will attend TWO GAHCC Events per month.
I will contact THREE members per month and inform them of their membership status.
I will recruit THREE New Members throughout year
I have the authorization of the management of my company for full participation.
If I am unable to comply with any of the above, I will notify Ambassador Program Staff Liaison Selina Aguirre as soon as possible and voluntarily withdraw from the program.
