The Capital of Texas Awards

The GAHCC excitedly awaits the celebration of our 1st Annual Capital of Texas Awards, "Small Business is Big Business in Texas" on Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel.  We have an exciting event planned for you with a keynote address given by Susan Combs, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.  Additionally, special guest Valerie Velazquez, Miss Texas Latina USA, will be there to honor the winners. The event is nearly sold out, so please register today if you want to guarantee a seat. 

After three months of accepting nominations, choosing the top 21 finalists, and now sifting through a few thousand final votes, the GAHCC is ready to announce the final winners!  At the Capital of Texas Awards Luncheon, the GAHCC will honor seven businesses in the following categories: Education/Nonprofit; Food/Beverage; Media; Retail/Shopping; Services; Sports/Recreation; Rising Star. 

The GAHCC commends the finalists that have dedicated their time, talent and leadership to making Austin a better place to live: Joe's Bakery & Coffee Shop, Juan In A Million®, Nuevo León Mexican Restaurant, ¡Ahora Si!, El Mundo Newspaper, Univision TV, Austin Aztex, Austin Toros, Round Rock Express, Adelánte Solutions, Inc., The Critical Update, Inc., Martin Barrera, Architect, Jack & Adam's Bicycles, Mr. Natural, WhiteFire Diamonds & Fine Jewelry, Austin & Central Texas Hispanic Nurses Association, Con Mi MADRE, PeopleFund, Casa Chapala Mexican Grill & Catering, Color Factory, and Jardín De Niños Interlingua Spanish Immersion Day School. 

Businesses and organizations that purchase a Table Sponsorship for $600 will receive a table sign to advertise their company.  Individual tickets are available at $50 for members and $60 for future members. Join us in supporting these spectacular small business leaders!
