The role of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber is to foster the advancement and progression of a robust and stable economic culture for Hispanic businesses. For Hispanic ingenuity and creativity to thrive in local business, we need to support a healthy workforce to continue the growth of Hispanic wealth in Central Texas.
In response, the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC) Health and Wellness Committee has launched an initiative to fight chronic diseases like diabetes by holding its 1st Golf Classic on Monday, April 12th, 2010 at the Falconhead Golf Club, shotgun at Noon!
The GAHCC Health and Wellness Committee is dedicated to providing advocacy, leadership and education on health and wellness practices to insure optimal workforce productivity. We are committed to support a healthy workforce by realizing the following objectives:
- Connecting and leveraging health resources and organizations to small businesses in the Greater Austin Area.
- Improve awareness and understanding of employee health issues by disseminating health information to employers.
- Empower employees to adopt healthier lifestyles.
- Train employers to create healthy workplaces.
- Provide research and data demonstrating the financial benefits for employers and employees doing business in a healthy work culture.
We need your support now to help people in our community who suffer from chronic diseases.
