Emerging Enterprises Efforts Reach Africa
By Monica Willey, Emerging Enterprises
Livingstone Kumassah describes himself as a sharing person, ready and willing to help others succeed. Mr. Kumassah has the desire to live the American Dream: to be his own boss, employ others, and contribute to the success of the U.S. economy with a sense of independence. Stonex International Group, LLC began when a friend, a former mechanic with over 20 years of experience, visited Libya and saw a need for an automobile repair shop. Mr. Kumassah came to Emerging Enterprises with a vision of exporting car parts to help his business partner’s automobile repair shop in Libya.
The incubator gave him the tools to start a successful business. Some of these tools were how to write a business and marketing plan, how to think like an entrepreneur, and the knowledge that you can make money but money will make new ideas. Emerging Enterprises gave him reasoning skills in the areas of marketing, fi nancial projections, and business development.
Mr. Kumassah greatly values the networking group that developed from his classmates at Emerging Enterprises as well as the seminars that took place in the areas of business law, accounting, and marketing. In the near future, Mr. Kumassah will utilize the business plan that he wrote during his classes to secure a business loan. Emerging Enterprises and the GAHCC look forward to watching the future of Stonex International Group, LLC unfold.
