Luis Patiņo, General Manager of Univision TV
Luis was most recently appointed to Vice President and General Manager for KAKW Ch.62 and KBVO Ch.51 in Austin. Both stations are owned and operated by Univision Communications Inc.
Prior to the move to Austin, Luis worked for the Univision flagships stations in Los Angeles, CA. While in Los Angeles, Luis served as National Sales Director for the companies flagship stations.
Before moving to Los Angeles Luis worked for the Univision Affiliate in San Diego, CA. In San Diego, Luis held the role of account executive and was eventually promoted to National Sales Director where he served out the remainder of his seven year tenure.
While in San Diego, Luis served on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Ad Club and was the Chairperson for the Hispanic Marketing Council (2003-2005). Luis also served on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Hispanic Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Luis began his broadcast career back in 1997 in San Francisco, CA working for the Univision National Sales office.
Luis currently serves on the boards of Austin Chamber of Commerce, Austin Ad Federation, Mexic-Arte Museum, the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium, the Austin Lyric Opera and is a trustee for the Long Center for the Performing Arts.
Luis is a native of Los Angeles, CA and currently lives in Austin, TX with his wife of 9 years, Liliana Garcia-Patino, 2-year old son Andres and his 6-year old daughter, Daniela.
