Stephanie Richmond, Procurement & Certification Chair

Leading the Procurement & Certification committee, Stephanie Richmond’s goal is to encourage and assist GAHCC members in becoming HUB/DBE/MBE/WBE certified and providing them procurement opportunities.

The committee will respond to the results of a survey developed by the GAHCC during October and November 2009. Based upon the sample used, over 70% of our small business members are Hispanic and/or Women-owned. However, only 25% are certified as minority-owned. Over 60% expressed interest in receiving certification information and assistance.

Stephanie’s vision is to work in partnership with the GAHCC and local and state agencies to assist the Chamber’s members, who are willing and able, to do business with local and state government entities.

Stephanie brings seven years of public sector Supplier Diversity experience with the State of Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program, the Texas A&M University HUB Program and the Texas Building and Procurement Commission Statewide HUB Program. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Central and South Texas Minority Business Council and the HUB Advisory Board for the Department of Information Resources. Presently, Stephanie owns a consulting firm where she focuses on business development, supplier diversity and cross border business initiatives between Mexico and Texas for small and large businesses.
