Welcoming our New GAHCC Chair

With his successful term coming to an end, Robert Franco, 2008 Chair, addressed the Annual Banquet audience by expressing his gratitude for everyone’s support during his year of service. Welcoming his successor, Franco stated, “You will have a new chair person, Blanca Garcia, and I promise you she will be bold [...] I invite you to join her and give her all of your support as she takes your Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber to new heights of excellence.”

In collaboration, Franco and Garcia recognized the Chamber’s nine award recipients. After an eventful award ceremony, Garcia took the stage, embraced by the audience; she began her address by thanking all of her supporters and family.

With the Chamber’s mission in mind, she continued “it is important to recognize that in order to achieve the goals of your Chamber we must work collectively. It is our community that binds, maintains, and strengthens our mission. During my tenure as your Chair, I want for your Chamber to be [...] a resource for the empowerment and advancement of the community as a whole. That is my vision.”

Throughout her address Garcia highlighted several of the organization's accomplishments and future goals. She also encouraged everyone to continue their involvement with the Chamber. The new GAHCC Chair closed with, “It is my pledge to you that I will focus and work to pave our paths to prosperity with these goals in mind.  I thank you for your membership to the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  Your faith in our organization and in our community is what will make this year prosperous.”
