GAHCC 2018 "Capital of Texas Awards" Recognizing Latina Industry Leaders Nomination Form

 

The Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC) invites our members to submit Latina Nominations for the 2018 Capital of Texas Awards as we recognize high-achieving Latina Industry Leaders on Friday, April 20, 2018, at the Hyatt Regency Austin.

Nominees will be selected upon their outstanding business accomplishments and positive impact in our community. A nominee’s business leadership, notable community contributions, and overall reputation are the criteria in which each nominee will be selected. A nominations selection committee led by Co-Chairs Lupe Morin and Erica Saenz, which includes GAHCC board members and other GAHCC Members, will review all applicants and select an award recipient for each category based on the merits of the materials submitted.


Nomination Requirements

  • Must be a Latina who resides in the Greater Austin area
  • Business and/or organization must operate in the Greater Austin area
  • Self nominations welcome
  • Nominations must be received by GAHCC no later than Wednesday, February 28th by 5:00 p.m.


Information Required

  1. The completed nomination form  below
  2. Responses to all questions related to the appropriate award category
  3. Nominee Narrative: In nominator’s own words, explain why this nominee should be recognized in this year's Capital of Texas Award. The narrative must be a minimum of 6 sentences but not more than one page. Include specific information and details that differentiate and set this nominee apart from others. Identify any previous accomplishments, honors, or awards that the nominee has received.


Award Categories

Community: A Latina that has made a significant contribution to the Austin community and demonstrates a superior level of philanthropic and civic activity

Food & Beverage: A Latina-owned and/or Latina-professional in the food and beverage industry who is above the rest in the Greater Austin community

Health & Human Services: A Latina that has distinguished themselves by providing Healthcare services or has educated the Greater Austin community on health-related issues

Non-Profit: A Latina that successfully operates a local 501(c)3 nonprofit and has provided a stellar track record creating a positive impact in the Greater Austin community

Professional Services: A Latina-owned and/or Latina-professional that successfully runs and operates a business providing superior services for their clients in the Greater Austin community

Public Service: A Latina-professional that has distinguished themselves in the community and public interest in the Greater Austin Area

Rising Star: A Latina who has distinguished themselves amongst their peers as they continue to excel and evolve as a future leader in the Greater Austin community

Technology Award: A Latina-owned and/or Latina-professional who oversees and provides a high-level of technological advancements and services in the Greater Austin community

Upon submission, all entries become the property of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The GAHCC may use nomination packages and information as part of the Capital of Texas Awards luncheon, website, and future marketing collateral. Please retain copies of any documents needed for your future use.


Note: GAHCC board members may be nominated and/or nominate themselves; however, if nominated, they may not participate in the selection process and must meet the general criteria listed above
