As a Government Relations Coordinator, at Capital Metro, Eric develops and maintains relationships with government entities, elected officials and their staff to promote regional consensus for the support of transit. In his role, Eric seeks to increase awareness and support for transit among customers and communities, civic, and nonprofit organizations, businesses, public organizations, and elected officials and staff at all levels of government. Eric works to ensure that stakeholders and elected officials have the opportunity to provide input on agency initiatives and strategic decisions. As liaison to the Transit Empowerment Fund, he works to remove barriers to self-sufficiency by increasing access to transportation—to date, the Fund has provided four million rides. Eric is an avid fan of the Texas Rangers, an alumnus of St. Edward’s University, and since first seeing the view of Downtown from the Hilltop, has called Austin home.
