Linda A. Favila serves as Executive Assistant to the President and CEO for the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC). Linda joined the GAHCC team offering wealth of experience in providing support to the Latinx community through access to improved living conditions and access to education. As a proud dual citizen of both the United States and Mexico, Linda’s passion for engagement, collaboration and the establishment of meaningful relations between Mexican and American communities is further supported by her personal experiences and successes across both sides of the Texas-Mexico border.

Prior to joining the GAHCC Linda served as Manager of Criminal Justice initiatives within the Department of Protection and Legal Affairs for the Consulate General of Mexico, providing guidance to Mexican National citizens in matters of involvement with foreign authorities and law enforcement. Linda has also interned in the Department of Promotion and Investment at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism for the State of Coahuila (MX), overseeing institutional and governmental strategy efforts for community development.

Hailing from Saltillo, Mexico — an Austin sister city, Linda uncovered a passion for diplomacy and international relations through participation in Model UN and an innate drive to assist during humanitarian crises. Linda’s unique journey in the United States began when she made the difficult decision to leave her beloved family in Mexico, relocate to Del Rio, Texas during her senior year of high school and pursue a collegiate career at the University of Texas at Austin. Linda is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in International Relations and Global Studies.

A self-professed globetrotter and an art history aficionado, Linda enjoys exploring world cultures, time outdoors on Austin’s Lady Bird Lake (preferably on paddleboard), working out, gardening, indulging in True Crime TV and exploring Austin’s latest eateries.
