Stephanie Bazan serves as the Director of Communications, Signature Events & Programs of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC). In this newly created position, Stephanie supports initiatives that are key to the GAHCC's sustainability and growth, which include overseeing the Chamber's prestigious leadership program, Hispanic Austin Leadership (HAL).

Prior to joining GAHCC she was a marketing and communications consultant. She brings over 15 years of communications experience across a multitude of industries along with a solid background in event coordination. As a former small business owner and previous Director of Marketing at LifeWorks – an Austin non-profit, she has been instrumental in enhancing messaging and strengthening brands.

Stephanie also taught writing and design courses at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and spent two years abroad working as a graphic designer for the University of York Medical School while attending graduate school at Leeds University in the United Kingdom.

Stephanie has presented on topics such as social media, service and leadership, and has also served on numerous education and non-profit panels. She is a graduate of the Leadership Austin Emerge program, past president of the St. Edward’s Alumni Association and currently serves on the Hispanic Impact Fund Steering Committee, The Junior League of Austin Leadership Team, and is an active volunteer for several non-profits including Latinitas and Wayside Schools.

Stephanie is a native Austinite and a proud member of the Limon family. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing & Rhetoric and minor in Graphic Design from St. Edward's University and also received the Presidential Award -- the university's highest honor for an undergraduate. As an alumna she received the St. Edward's University Alumni Service Award in 2017. She has earned a Master of Arts with distinction in Creative Writing from the University of Leeds. Stephanie is a soccer enthusiast who also enjoys traveling around the world and going on adventures with her husband Matt and their children Bastian and Elena.
