Luz Lopez-Guerrero was born in Caimanera, Oriente, Cuba and grew up in Austin, Texas.

Raised in East Austin, Luz was exposed to the needs of the community and has been involved in several volunteer opportunities to help the less fortunate and likes to work with the Senior Citizen population in Austin and surrounding counties.

Luz works for WellMed Medical Management, Inc. as a Physician Business Manager contracting and educating Primary Care Physicians about the WellMed Model of Care for Senior Citizens. She is also a Licensed Insurance Agent specializing in Medicare Advantage and other plans to help the Senior Citizen and Medicare eligible population with their Medicare Healthcare options. 

Luz has been involved with the GAHCC since 2005 as a volunteer and for 7 years the volunteer coordinator for the GAHCC Celebrando, responsible for managing 40 volunteers.

She is a proud graduate of the 2010 GAHCC Hispanic Austin Leadership, Co-Chair of the GAHCC Health and Wellness Committee, Chair of the GAHCC HAL committee and Alumni committee, member of the Annual Conley-Guerrero Senior Luncheon committee. Former member of Safe Kids Austin, AHA and the 2015 GAHCC Volunteer of the Year and the 2020 GAHCC Gus Garcia Service Award 

Luz is married to John Guerrero and has 2 children and 5 grandchildren. In their spare time they like to listen to music, spend time with the family and travel.
