Kassandra Foote was born and raised in the border town Laredo, TX.
At the age of 23 she started her own scholarship and mentorship program for graduating seniors at her high school in Laredo, TX and became a first-generation college graduate from The University of Texas at Austin with a business degree in Management Information Systems and Health Informatics Technology.
Kassandra is a passionate agile advocate, facilitator, and mentor with nearly 10 years of experience in both traditional methodologies and agile approaches. She is skilled in building self-organizing, empowered teams with the ability to lead all aspects of complex software development projects from beginning to final release. Currently she’s a Sr. Manager of Process and Release Management at WellSky a technology company advancing human wellness worldwide.
Kassandra is known for her active volunteering in the Agile Austin community and spreading the Agile love since 2015. From 2018-2021 Kassandra led the Keep Austin Agile Conference Operations Subcommittee. In 2019-2020 she served on the Agile Austin board as Chief Product Officer as well as led the monthly Scrum Master- SIG in Austin. She is dedicated to making a difference in the workplace and in her community by inspiring teams to adopt agile principles. In 2020, Kassandra was named a finalist in the “Rising Star” category for the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s (GAHCC) Capital of Texas “Latina Industry Leaders Awards.”
Kassandra is also a mentor with Latinas in Tech and the Hispanic Business Student Association at UT. She is committed to bringing out the best in everyone around her and preparing them for success in their field. When she’s not coaching or mentoring, Kassandra is mastering her passion for salsa dancing, volunteering for a great cause, running around Lady Bird Lake with her husband Aaron Foote, or Cricuting away.
