Statement by Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce In Response to #GeorgeFloyd

Your Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce stands united in the calls for justice and reform following the recent murder of George Floyd and many others before him.

We must come together as communities of color, Americans, and fellow human beings to continue to speak up against racism, and lead by example in being anti-racist by actively challenging prejudices to interrupt systemic racism. Silence helps nobody.

Take action now by supporting small black owned businesses -- many can be found through our partners at the Greater Austin Black Chamber and this listing posted by Austin Monthly. Continue advocating for equity in our nation, by donating to groups such as Black Lives Matter, Austin Justice Coalition, and the Minnesota Freedom Fund. Sign petitions like Color of Change, Justice for George Floyd, and NAACP.

#BlackLivesMatter and we have zero tolerance for prejudice, brutality or racism. We continue to listen and learn how we may best serve our community and be a strong voice for change.

In solidarity,

Joseph Cajas, GAHCC Chairman
