Ambassador Mayorga visited Austin as part of her five-city tour of Texas to promote investment and the generation of job opportunities for El Salvador. Prior to visiting Austin, Ambassador Mayorga visited McAllen, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. During the Austin visit, Ambassador Mayorga visited with Austin Mayor Steve Adler, City Officials, Texas Association of Business (TAB), and board members of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. This exchange was in collaboration with Maria Rios, CEO of Nation Waste, Inc.
Ambassador Mayorga provided Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce representatives an overview of recent economic developments in El Salvador. Her presentation further highlighted the importance of El Salvador acting as a strategic economic partner to the United States. Additionally, the Ambassador shared updates on public projects underway in El Salvador such as the expansion of the Pacific Airport, the Pacific Train, the construction of Hospital El Salvador, and the refurbishment of the Salvadoran Hospital Network. Following Ambassador Mayorga’s presentation, GAHCC Board members and Salvadoran Delegation Members shared remarks with the group highlighting the importance of fostering international relationships in the business community. At the conclusion of the event, GAHCC President and CEO Diana Maldonado presented Ambassador Mayorga and the Salvadoran Delegation with a goodwill gift while sharing in conversation and refreshments.
